Mr. Frank McBrearty Snr. has requested permission to return to the Tribunal and complete his evidence by letter dated the 27th of November 2006. The Chairman has directed that he return to the Tribunal next Thursday, the 30th of November 2006 at 10.30 a.m. to continue his evidence under cross examination. In order to facilitate this, the Tribunal has adjourned its business until Thursday and the evidence of those witnesses who had agreed to attend for the remainder of the week, the Tribunal regrets this inconvenience to them.

It's ten years ago to the day since Raphoe man Ritchie Barron was killed.
The botched investigation into his death and the subsquent attempts by Gardai to frame two men, Frank McBreaty Jr and Mark McConnell, for his murder were central to the establishment of the Morris Tribunal.
Mr. Barron's death has since been designated as a hit and run.
No-one has ever been brought to justice.

The Irish taxpayers have reportedly paid out almost €230m in recent years on the tribunals investigating issues ranging from planning corruption to the retention of children's organs.
Reports this morning say new government figures show €180m of this figure has been spent on legal fees, making millionaires of some of the country's top barristers.
The Planning Tribunal has reportedly cost the most at €52m, followed by the Lindsay Tribunal (€46m), the Child Abuse Commission (€31m), the Moriarty Tribunal (€25m) and the Morris Tribunal (€23m)

The Revenue Commissioners has published its quarterly tax defaulters list, which includes the largest-ever settlement made in the history of the State.
There were 150 names published who paid up a total of €55.5 million.
A settlement by Bovale Developments, the company owned by Michael and Tom Bailey, significantly boosted the figures. They made a payment of €22 million.
